I’ve hit a wall. After a few weeks of powering through revisions, I can’t seem to get myself to sit down and write. I have ideas, but am not typing them up. But you see, I’m so busy right now. Next week we start wrapping up homeschooling in the age of COVID-19 (🌤) and I‘m busy transitioning to a new PTA role... Let’s be honest. Those are just excuses. I’m procrastinating.
Our family travels a lot—both locally and internationally, and I’m feeling cooped up. We have been on lockdown for 73 days and I want to GO somewhere! The beaches are open in the Carolinas but it seems like everyone is going there, which doesn’t make sense for social distancing. So today I searched online for rental cabins in the mountains. They are all booked up for the summer. Drat.
There’s nowhere to go, so the next best thing was to do 21 consecutive travel-related quizzes on Buzzfeed. Very important use of time.
On a roll, I then shopped for Fathers’ Day gifts on Amazon, because that’s pressing. I mean, it’s only a month away. I was very busy texting pictures of my son to family, ribald jokes to friends, and called various local businesses just to see if they are open...
Today was not a great day in terms of productivity. But from the perspective of a Master Procrastinator, it was aces! It’s all in how you look at things.
