You may have noticed in the menu bar that I finally created an About Me page. I looked back to see when I first intended to accomplish this—March of last year! Why did it take me 10 months to think of something to say about myself?
If I wanted to talk about myself, I would have gone into Toastmasters, not journalism.
I’d wager that most writers feel the same way.
The trouble is that I kept writing about my professional accomplishments, which sounded dry and annoying. So I started thinking about the things I like to know about people—things like where they grew up, and what kind of kid they were, or fun facts. Et voilà!
